Bushfire Kitchen Opens In Menifee

CONTRIBUTING TO A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

Bushfire Kitchen open their fourth location in Menifee, California. The restaurant is located near Verizon within the Menifee Countryside Marketplace. I joined their Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, December 14.

The chain restaurant specializes on healthy takes of BBQ classics by using free-range chicken, 100% grass-fed beef and organic ingredients. They have a large selection of gluten-free items, as well as, vegetarian. The soups, sauces and bread are all made in house. You can really taste the difference!

Foccacia Bread

The menu offers a variety of dishes such as: salads, grass-fed burgers, sandwiches, bowls, entrees, sides and a Kids menu. A slice of focaccia is offered with most meals and is accompanied by scallion sauce. All sandwiches are made with this delicious bread. Family Packs range in price from $39.95 to $59.95.

Pacific Northwest Salmon Plate ($17.95)

Moist and flaky salmon is grilled to perfection and served on a bed of rice or mashed potatoes. The sustainable salmon is topped with sun-dried tomatoes, capers and Italian parsley. This meal allows you to select one other side. As you can see here, Brussel Sprouts was an excellent choice.

Natural Angus Tri-Tip Plate ($16.95)

Tender Tri-Tip is served pre-sliced with a pink center. The meal comes with a housemate chimichurri and two of your favorites sides. I may not have accomplished an ideal pairing but in my defense, I was in the mood for sweet potato fries.

Grandma's Mac & Cheese ($11.95), Sweet Potato Fries ($12.95)

The proverbial Mac & Cheese is made with penne pasta. This makes for a chunkier, cheesy bite. The top was crispy with an overall aldente consistency. I also had the sweet potato fries. This may very well be the most expensive fries I have ever had. They served me a heaping portion of large, crispy and very firm fries. I'd say it's a sharable size as they are very filling.

Empanada

Choose from three empanadas, chicken, beef or veggies. The most popular is the chicken filling. The meat was either finely chopped or ground. It was hard to tell in the dimly lit space at night. What I did notice is a strong herbaceous flavor which could have been pesto or chimichurri.

When you visit, expect counter service and a self serve "healthy soda" machine called Stubborn Soda. As it was explained to me, it is soda made with natural ingredients such as sugar cane. There is also a variety of craft beer to choose from and housemade lemonade. I tried the Hibiscus Lemonade. It had a nice colorful hue and a fresh taste that wasn't too sour.
