Where ever there is wine, there is a win!
Over 40 unique vineyards and wineries populate the Temecula Valley region. On a wine tour with our local guide extraordinaire, we visit three boutique wineries.
Tom Plant, who is part of the International Food Wine & Travel Writers Association, established WINEormous in 2009, after traveling the world and settling in Temecula Valley. He visits Sonoma County, Santa Ynez, Napa Valley and Paso Robles at least once a year and shares his rich knowledge and experience on his tours.
Our tour begins at the picturesque Lorimar Vineyards & Winery.
Their extensive wine list includes award winning red and white varietals. I asked Tom to select a wine list for me. I tasted a total of six wines and was pleased with the selection.
The indoor space at Lorimar is chic, consisting of a cozy lounge, a small art gallery, trinket station and wine bar. After a few tastings, we couldn't resist the outdoors as the spring season greets us with a smile.
Tom knows the area like the palm of his hand. Our second stop is at the quaint Palumbo Family Vineyards & Winery.
Nick Palumbo is a former president of the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association. His estate is dedicated to producing small batches of wine.
The seating area overlooks grapevines and the main street.
With a total of five wines on the tasting menu, it is one of the smaller wineries indeed. I sampled four wines, one white and three red.
Our third and final stop, is at the outdoorsy Vindemia Winery, where they practice sustainable farming methods.
I found myself surrounded by acres of grapevines and olive trees. In addition to winemaking, olives are also harvested and pressed to make fresh olive oil, which is available on certain times of the year.
The wine list cosists of eight varietals. I had three pours of white and three pours of red at their outdoor wine bar.
I just love the view from the patio! I had the most relaxing experience between nature and good wine at hand.
We caught David outside working on his estate. I said "wine" and he said "cheese!"
